Hey all, I haven’t really messed too much with OCLP, I used it back in the day to stretch an extra OS version out of my 2013 iMac, and it was fine.

This time I wanted to get my stock Mac Pro 6,1 up off Monterrey like probably so many. I downloaded Sequoia and set up the patcher on my Mac Studio. I chose the 6,1 host model and left the defaults. The usb built without issue (64G drive).

I then pulled the ssd from my pro and installed a new 1 TB blade I’d been meaning to put in it. I inserted the usb and booted.

And booted and booted. I held opt and chose efi boot and then the installer. There was verbose booting just as I’d configured. But it wouldn’t boot. A couple times it reached Recovery mode but it was a jpeg, just immediate freeze and reboot.

Ok I try this a that and get tried and am ready to just put my old ssd in while I figure out troubleshooting. I reset nvram again and booted up but the boot loop persists. I tried with and without the USB inserted and using EFI boot.

The last boot messages are about the network and bridge0, pretty mundane.

How do I get my original ssd booting again? I’ve googled around but must be missing some obvious term of solution. Thanks for reading.

if you want you disk back with no open core you need to use a disk partitioning software to removed the hidden EFI folder. I like to use windows diskpart to clean the drive or Hirem's Boot cd that has many utilities for disks.

But until you get rid of that folder you will weird issues.
