Hi I installed an unsupported version of Mac OSX Monterey on my 2011 27” iMac using OCLP 5.1.

Unfortunately there is an issue with this version on pre 2012 iMacs. By where it does not install the external speakers and only give you headphones as a sound output.

From what I’ve read this can be remedied by using OCLP 0.4.11. However there does not appear to be a page on the website where you can select older version of OCLP

Can some please point me in the right direction or do I have to wait for a updated version of OCLP to sort this out

Currently I have no external sound which is really annoying

New release says 5.3 solves the sound issue.

I too have a 2011 iMac 12,2. 12GB RAM, Radeon HD 6970M with a fusion drive. I use the computer as a storage device for my movies and music to AirPlay to my AppleTV.

Would I have any problems moving up to Monterey?
How has your experience been with OCLP?

The experience will be borderline unusable if you install it on the Fusion Drive. Modern macOS releases are made for SSD's. Upgrading to an SSD is relatively easy on a 2011, at least compared to the 2012 and newer iMacs.

Do note that the Radeon 6970M has a huge manufacturing defect which makes it almost guranteed to fail at some point. It can also be replaced in a 2011 with a much newer GPU, that also supports Metal, meaning that the graphics performance will be tolerable in more intensive apps.
