Guy's I'm having a problem with this program (v2.2.0).. I click on create Macos installer to download the installer, all I get is "error failed to download installer from catalog from apple, is it gone from apple now.. You see I have bought the airport Wifi and a Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GDDR6 (Mac flashed), and I have also done the pixel mod, so I'll be ready for the newer OSX (I'm using Mojave).. All is useless if I can't get the installer for my Mac Pro 3,1...

Which Mac OS installer are you trying to download?

You won't be able to use Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GDDR6 in any OS newer than Monterey because the latest driver require AVX2 instruction set which your CPU does not support.

Hi again...I've fix it silly me.. My wife changed the cable modem, so I had to do the password again. The OS I want to install is Sonoma, and my mistake I have a 2010 Mac pro not Mac Pro 2008, so is there drivers for my Radeon RX 6700XT for Sonoma or am I stuck with Monterey...

This guy did in on a Hackintosh but not sure if he has intel or AMD CPU..

Your CPU is from 2008 and it does not have AVX2

If yoh want to use your RX6700 download Monterey.

If yoh want any os newer than Monterey then buy a rx580 or vega.

It's getting to the point where it's better to buy an M4 Mac Mini than try to keep hacking old Mac Pro.

Polaris or Vega gpu is your best bet for what you want to do. Step back your gpu model.
Well not quite!

I have a Vega 64, while running in general, have some major issues with 3D apps for Sonoma as well as Sequoia. Asked in two different places if there is any solution or even the problems are commonly known. But didn't get any answer yet.

So for anything past Monterey best bet might be to stay at Polaris.

Hmm not sure all my Vega cards works fine with everything i throw at it in Sonoma/Sequoia...except Safari doesn't work in one of them i forget which one. No biggie FireFox to the rescue! Could be specifically to your 3 apps. Maybe contact the developers and show them the error logs?

Well, maybe you could do me some favour: Would be very kind, if you could give the cycling training app Rouvy a try. It's free to use. And for me it doesn't even launch with the Vega and Sonoma/Sequoia, while working fine with Monterey and Windows. So it would be interesting to know, if it works for you.

I'd love to help you out, except this -

No Thank You !
(not you, but subscriptions)

Nothing wrong with hacking a Mac Pro to get a later MacOSX on it.. Mine has a PCI-X card with (2) 2TB SSD (One is the boot drive) on it, Raid card with 2 2TB NVME SSD on that (It's not the old apple one), 96GB ram, Radeon RX 580 8GB video card and the Airport wifi, pixle mod too. But just my bloody luck that I bought a Radeon XT 12Gb card that hasn't drivers for later OSX.. All the other range and of XT card's have driver's but not the XT 12Gb...

Which XT cards?

Your cpu does not support AVX2.

More and more apps are now requiring AVX2 support and will not work/crash on your computer.

So even if you get the GPU running you will be stuck on old version of Apps.

For example, I use Adobe Lightroom and I have an 2009 Mac Pro.

Booting into Monterey I cannot update to the latest version of Lightroom. Booting into Sequoia I can download the latest version of Lightroom but it crashes on start up.

Regardless of how much RAM and Raid you have in your Mac Pro, the reality is that it is reaching a point where it becomes a legacy machine that cannot be upgraded further.

Funny. I have the 6700xt working no problems via bootcamp on my egpu using window 10. Bootcamp installed the drivers for the card.
