O2 is widely known to have appalling DNS servers - I use openDNS at home for this reason.

I'm curious to see if using openDNS would improve my edge experience in any way, and I gather that o2's data network outages over the summer were actually due to DNS failures, so it'd be nice to avoid future such outages.

I can't scare up any way to alter the DNS on even a jailbroken iPhone though.

There used to be a totally overpriced app in the app store, but it doesn't work on 3.x any more, apparently, though I am loathe to pay a tenner for it even if it does.

There also used to be a method for 1.x, a couple of config files in the phone to edit, but that hasn't worked since 2 when I tried it last.

Any ideas?
