Anyone know why Apple made the iPhone opening screen not go directly to the home page? What is the point of turning on the phone only to get to a screen where you have to slide to unlock it? Which is not really a lock anyway and more just an extra step to use the phone.

So it doesn't do stuff while in your pocket.

Also, it looks cool :D

How is it supposed to do stuff while in your pocket? And if it could, then it could also unlock it. I would think the easier way to prevent it from doing stuff, would be to use the passcode lock.
