Opening the same Itunes database with Mac and PC?

I have my Itunes database on a NAS and I currently have my MAC itunes access and store purchases to it. I just installed Itunes on a PC and was thinking of doing the same. Not sure if you can, and if it even lets me I am wondering if it messes things up with sharing the database across to systems.

Hmmmm. I would think it's possible. Obviously you will point the PC & the Mac to the same location on the NAS. I guess I would be cautious in not having both computers trying to access the NAS location at the same time.

I think you'd run into problems due to Mac and PC systems expressing file paths differently.

Hmm, lets see, I'm doing this now. I have my iTunes Media folder in the NAS (Time Capsule in my case), and have iTunes Libraries from various Macs and a PC path to that location (Preferences/Advanced/iTunes Media folder location). I have both check boxes (keep organized & copy to library) checked on. And whenever I want one iTunes Library to add something that is already in another iTunes Library, I make sure to add it without duplicating by dragging the file from the Finder (or Explorer) window into the iTunes Library with Option key held (I forget which is the equivalent for PC, might be the Ctrl key). Also be sure to have all computers authorized by whoever purchased the content.
