I'm new to pwning the iPhone. I stayed away because I didn't want to have to deal with bugginess or weird/random problems. But my curiosity got the best of me and I ran QuickPwn 2.2 today to pwn my iPhone 3G.

Everything went well, but when I open Cydia and try to install OpenSSH, it tells me "The Package openssh cannot be found in your current sources. I might recommend installing more sources." I searched this forum for an answer but found nothing. Google found some people on random forums with the same problem, but I couldn't find a clear answer on how to get it to work. Anyone have any ideas what my problem is?

Don't ask me why, but it just decided to randomly start working. Oh well. Feel free to delete or close this thread.

Hey guys. I seem to be having the same problem. I'm not new to jailbreaking, but after I re-jb'd i opened cydia to install ssh (same problem occured w/several other apps) and it failed. It displayed this error message "The package openssh cannot be found in your current sources. I might recommend installing more sources." I've never had this problem before installing these, anyone figure out how to fix it?

Thanks!

Install any updates that might be available. You can find them in the "Changes" section of Cydia.

Then restart Cydia and/or your phone and see if it works.

If your problem is similar to what mine was, just give it time and it'll suddenly decide to work.

I checked for updates under changes in cydia, restarted cydia multiple times and restarted my phone. Still, no change in the situation. Anyone have this situation and know how to fix it? Appreciate the help guys!

EDIT: I switched to edge and it is installing openssh now. . . we'll see if this fixes it

This worked for me too. I set the network to edge - but it took too long to download. Openssh didn't install. So I set the network back to wifi and 3g and tried again - then it worked. Don't know why it needed edge to find the package but thanks for that hint.

My friend just jb'd and had the same problem. He switched to edge and it installed perfectly. It seems as if it is just having trouble installing over wifi. . .which is interesting because all of the other apps install just fine.
