Just got the invite for it, installed and is a massive upgrade to the current one. VPN still stays connected on iOS12 when you leave the application. Also, username password authentication works fine.

Where did you go to ask for an invite? Would love to test...

Not working for me. It's saying that I am missing an external certificate (my VPN provider does not use one on iOS). So something is going on that's forcing certificate usage, even with user/pass for me.

Otherwise, it looks like a huge improvement.

You can mail them on their support email or DM them on twitter with your apple ID so they can send you an invite. I did it 3-4 weeks back and this is the first beta for v3. You can try and hopefully there are still slots. Good luck to you.

Definitely a huge improvement. You can report the issue on TestFlight. I have found a few weird ones as well:
1. Every VPN profile I import, there is a "PC" prefixed to it under Settings > VPN.
2. If you connect through Settings > VPN, it is almost instant, too quick to be true.

Yeah, I reported all of this through TestFlight. I also have those two additional issues, and reported them as well.

For #2, a couple of my configurations will show "Connected" and then go back to being turned off. One of them will stay showing "Connected" but it's actually not connected.

Also for people who might be curious, this is the dark mode which I enabled under settings. The default skin is pretty white.

I am sure they will have it fixed in the next beta. So glad all apps on my iPhone X are now compatible.

Happy to report that this will be fixed next TestFlight build. I submitted TestFlight feedback and worked with the devs via email to identify the issue, and they said the fix will be in the next build. They also gave me a temporary workaround to get me up and running in the meantime. Really enjoying this new app-- and happy to have OpenVPN working again on iOS 12!

UPDATE: Looks like the new build is out, so this should be fixed. That was a very quick turnaround. Impressed!

I've found that starting the VPN connection from within the Settings.app will keep the OpenVPN connection alive as long as you don't open the OpenVPN app.

The new version of the app looks great nonetheless!
