Hey guys, Opera has become FREE! Well, it was always free if you wanted to see their ads, but they took away the ads now. They just released 8.5, and it looks pretty good. Anyone willing to try something new instead of the firefox/camino/safari you use currently?

...finally

been waiting for years for this. I actually get very close to buy Opera once or twice....the manual gestures for the mouse works great, the tabs too, and the engine is very good at the pages that safari and firefox don't manage very well.

Also, the interface has been cleaned a lot since version 8. It's very unobstrusive. Give it a try!!!

there's this function in opera that i find really useful when i am looking at picture web sites...if you are looking at a gallery and the filenames are in order all you have to do is click the fastforward button to browse through them. makes it a lot faster and easier. back browsing not necessary.

I'm an ardent Camino guy, but hey, if its free, I'll give it a shot.
Hmmm never got into Camino. Always more of a firefox fan myself, but the newer camino builds have been pretty good. I just can't give up my extensions! :)

But yup... time to give opera a try...

Its the only thing other than IE that handles my Wachovia Bill Pay... not Firefox, not Camino, not Safari.

Having said that, it doesn't handle dropping text clippings onto it.

I'm staying with Safari for now, it does everything I want or need except when I pay bills a couple of times a month.

Every version Opera releases I give a try and never really liked it so the free offer doesn't interest me. I use Firefox on my PC which I love and Camino on mac though I'm not a huge fan of it. The next version of Firefox is said to have much better OSX support so I'm going to stick with Camino until then.
