Opinions of wireless apple mouse/keyboard

ill probably be getting a mac pro soon hopefully. part of my thinking has been about the choice of wireless or wired. i already have a wired set with a white keyboard/mouse(though its not a mighty mouse) so im interested in the wireless set.

how does the battery life last? i usually leave my computer on from when i get home until i go to bed even if im not using it. does it have a way to save battery power if i havent used the computer in the last X minutes?

anyone got any pointers for me?

I LOVE the Apple BT Keyboard...so much, in fact, that I have two: one for home and one for work. The battery lasts probably 6 months or more, which, for me, is rarely enough to not bother me in the least.

I also have an Apple BT mouse, the original one, and, while I'm less a fan of it than I am the keyboards, it's a good mouse for my MacBook. The batteries don't last as long as the ones in the keyboard do, though. I have not tried the new Mighty Mouse, so I can't comment on that, but I'd certainly be willing to give it a go based on past experiences.

On my G5 tower at home, I decided to go with a third party mouse to get all the benefits of the additional buttons. You may decide to look into that if you are someone who appreciates more than one or two buttons.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is the BEST keyboard by far I've ever had. The BT mouse is great too. A bit of getting used to but I love it

I bought a wireless keyboard and wireless one button mouse three weeks ago, and I have to sat they are great.

A small note, be sure to update the firmware first thing. Even though it works without it, it will make everything work perfectly. I only mention this because I've heard a few people say that it wasn't working properly for them, and after I got mine I knew why they were having problems.

I also invested in an iSkin cover for the keyboard, and looking at all the little stuff on it, it was well worth the investment.

I am not a fan of the mighty mouse, I don't like the way it feels, and I am really use to the one button anyway.

As for battery life, when you put you computer to sleep, the mouse and keyboard also go to sleep. As a result, you only have to physically turn them off when you leave for an extended time period.
