Hey everyone how is everyone doing? I apologize if this is a repetitive thread if being discuss or ask i am such a noob lol.

Anyways I never own an iMac i have been a windows users for a long time, and well long story short my pc isn’t working anymore so i decide that I should buy an iMac. I am looking at the 24 inch imac looking to get blue color even though colors isn’t the factor to my decisions.

i usually use my pc browsing, research, emails that kind of stuff. i was looking the iMac and haven’t decide which best sut\ied me to get the base model with 7 gpu or the other model with the 8 gpu so I am asking which models best for me to get? Any other suggestions/advice?

MAKE SURE you get 16gb of RAM.
8gb just "isn't enough" any more.

Get one with 4 ports on the back (2 USBc, 2 thunderbolt).
2 ports "aren't enough".

I would be sure to get one with the Ethernet connector on the power brick.
This may come automatically with the 4-port iMac.

While you arguably do not need the extra GPU core, the 8/8 model comes with two more USB-C ports and an extra cooling fan so, IMO, it's a better value for the extra $200. You also get an Ethernet RJ-45 in the power brick and TouchID on the keyboard (which is $149 if purchased separately).

From another post of mine

The cheapest 8/7 iMac has only a single fan blowing across the small motherboard that includes the SoC. There are only the (2) TB3/USB-4 ports.

Heat wise if you were to run something Cinebench for several minutes, a single fan iMac can be running into throttling when the M1 reaches 95C or hotter. Comparable the 2 fan 8/8 models run 20 degrees cooler with no throttling during several months of varied usage.

With the light usage you described, I would suggest you get the cheapest model available. Other extra things are just wasting your money. Your desk will be neat and clean, too.

Thanks for the suggestions/advice/input much appreciated it!

I would get the 8GPU / 8CPU version just for the extra fan and better cooling system, plus you get Touch ID included and Ethernet in the power brick.

All for an extra $200 definitely worth it IMO.
