Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro that I bought 2 months ago. The problem is the optical drive seems selective on which disks it want's to mount. I've run into two occassions where the disk failed to mount in the drive but using those same disks in 5 other computers with slot load and tray loading drives, the disks worked fine. I've taken mesurements of the disks with a digital caliper and found one disk to be slightly thicker but the other is fine.

Occurence when inserting the slightly thicker disk:

Intermittent buzzing noise occuring for 4-6 instances followed by ejection of disk without user input

Occurence when inserting seemingly normal disk:

Vibrating noise and skipping like noise which sounds like the disk is wobbling inside the drive and rubbing against something inside

Aside from this the drive seems to be working perfectly fine.

Should the drive be replaced?
