If I understand your question, you have to turn it on in settings under the Battery section under Battery Health. Hope this helps.

I've not looked, but I'd expect this would appear in the middle of the night a little while into an overnight charge (when I have scheduled 'Do Not Disturb' turned on).

If I understand the feature correctly it's not something I'd expect to kick-in during the daytime when the phone would expect to charge itself fully. Any 'machine learning' like this must also need some time to work out a pattern? New Nest thermostats need a week.

That makes sense, however I would expect it to come on. I tried day time and night time charging. No message. Maybe a 13.1 feature or its for later phones. Or as you suggested, it takes a while to learn.

Seems very useful.

I'm all for it if it saves your battery sitting there cooking all night at 100% charge, an interesting & useful feature to keep an eye on but expect it'll "just work" and we'll all take it for granted shortly.

Hi everyone,

I have iOS13. According to Apple there is a message on the lock screen showing est time to finish charging.

Does anyone get this? Is it new iPhones only? or something for 13.1?

Thanks

It only pops up if its active, which is different from it being turned 'on'.

I have mine on but it can't predict my day to day schedule and for this reason I don't get a notification on my lock screen, my Mrs however does and it frequently pops up saying her phone will finish charging by 5:00am.

EDIT: I've had it on since the 13.1 beta and it still can't predict my pattern. I wish there was a setting to limit maximum charge, i.e 80%

I've yet to see this message appear on my phone. I guess it's because of inconsistent charging patterns?

I don't think that's entirely the reason. Mine never has either and I am regular daily up at same time and within 10 min on charge before bed at same time (except weekends). Followed the whole KB with the settings they say have to be on and still nothing. Been several weeks since significant locations were enabled (which I am not entirely wanting on anyways) and still waiting on this "feature" to work. Guess my battery will already be jacked up before it starts "optimizing" to keep it from getting jacked up :)

It's been a while now and I have never seen the message on the lock screen. I wonder if it only works on certain phones? (Mines a 6S).

Even the System Customization?

If you look at the battery screen under settings in the morning, can you still see the 80% charge plateau in the graph?

I charge overnight. The only time I see the message is when I have to wake up several hours earlier than usual. Effectively, like overnight iCloud backups, this feature is adjusted to your personal patterns and will usually be invisible to you.

Dont think it matters. Just iOS 13 is stated: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210512

Yes, everything mentioned in the KB. Interesting enough Tuesday night, (after I posted this earlier Tuesday) , it finally came on! Worked again last night so who knows. Maybe Apple read my post and turned mine on remotely. ? LOL
