I’ve had my 16PM now for 14 days, but optimized changing hasn’t started yet when I plug in my phone overnight (I know this because I wake up a couple times during the night and my phone is already fully charged). How much longer should it take for the iPhone to learn my charging habits and start the optimized charging?

Never worked right for me. It would work perfectly for a few weeks then it wouldn't. I disabled it on all my devices. 80% charge limit has worked perfectly for me so that's what I use

Is it bad to charge your phone to 100% each night? What would be the purpose to limit the charge?

‘Be patient. Make sure that you have the settings right. Settings-Privacy and Security-Location Services-System services. Then at the bottom make sure Significant Location is turned on.

You then need to put it on the charger around the same time each night and soon it will go into the 80% max charge mode. I only use about 30% of my battery on my S10 Ti each day so it make sense to me. It is your watch so do as you wish no matter what others say!😳

It actually started working last night! Now I can rest easy haha. I’d rather use optimized battery charging and then let my phone fully charge to 100% for the day than stop it at 80% but then have the phone be at a lower percentage when putting in back on the charger at night? Is there a difference?

Very little if any difference. Optimized battery charging is not permanent. If you get off you schedule it will stop working and go back to 100%. Just not wearing your watch for a half day will do it. After my watch had been doing the 80% for months, I decided to wear my Series 7 Ti for a day and it took days before my watch went back to optimized charging.

Enjoy!
