I currently own a Macbook pro with the dual core 2.0 ghz processor, the upgraded graphics card (256), the 7200 rpm hard drive, and (originally) 1 gig of RAM. I do a lot of 3D animation/ video editing on the OS X side but still wanted to be able to game if need be through a boot camp partition. Recently, I installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and updated all of my drivers. I loaded several games and was extremely disappointed. I figured that the problem was my RAM so I ordered another Gig but game performance did not increase at all. For all intents and purposes, it remained the same. The graphics, essentially, look like crap.
I installed F.E.A.R expecting it to look fairly nice (not a top of the line machine but not bad) but everything looked grainy and washed out. My frame rate was also struggling. Is there anything I can do to optimize performance on my machine? Is there anything anyone would recommend? I figure problem has to be in setup or drivers and not in the machine. Its not a laptop designed for gaming but it has a good bit of power and should be able to do a decent job?
Thanks for any help and thanks for reading my post.
