In brief, I want to delete that APPLE SSD MEDIA > Container disk3 partition completely and add it back into the Mackintosh HD file where it originally was. But the partition option isn't available under Macintosh HD. And the Partition option under Container disk3 doesn't allow me to use the "-" button to delete the partition.

The long story, in case you want to know.
So, I set up a partition in order to install Ubuntu 18.10 just to try it out. Took me about 10 minutes to realize I wanted to delete the partition and just put the hard drive space back into my main Macintosh HD partition. So I went into MacOS Mojave and opened Disk Utility. I followed some instructions I found online from a reputable Mac website. It said select the partition I want to delete and first delete/reformat it. Then it said to click on Partition on that same drive and select "-" in order to delete the partition and put it back into the main Macintosh HD partition. However, the "-" button isn't available when I select Partition on that drive.

Now, I had noticed before i deleted/formatted that partition that if I clicked on The Macintosh HD the Partition option was available, and the "-" button worked. I didn't do that option (even though I think the would have worked) because the instructions I was following did not say to do that. So I followed the directions, and now when I go back to the Mac HD drive ALL of the options are grayed out except the "disk aid" option.

So, now I'm completely unable to get this partition to delete and go back to the main Mac HD drive.

Can someone PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

I didn’t find a solution to this, and I ended up making matters worse when I attempted to fix things by booting into Ubuntu and using their disk utility.

So I just formatted what was once the Mac HD drive and am doing an internet install of Mojave.

It’s not a problem since I back up constantly, and I enjoy reforminttng and starting over from a clean slate annually anyway.

But I’m still confused but what happened and Im kicking myself for even installing Ubuntu in the first place. It’s just junk compared to MacOS.
