Options for getting a 'Windows type task bar' in OS X?

Even after using OS X for years on and off I've never been able to get comfortable with the dock. There is a lot I like about OS X but i'm essentially trying to get my workflow more Windows like.


I've downloaded iTaskbar which is exactly what I was looking for, a task bar for OS X. I love the idea but it's glitchy in Yosemite. Does anyone know of any alternatives I might try?
