If Oracle is smart they will cut their losses now and not appeal. They might get Google to agree not to demand their legal fees be paid by Oracle if Oracle agrees not to appeal.

That would be the smart move but then again Oracle has not been very smart.

Funny how all the people who based Google in the following thread are deft silent today :

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1195375/

Gee, I wonder why. ;)

Well to be honest, the two main anti-google persons have been banned in that thread lol.

Looking through that thread I think I see more banned people than I have in a very long time. Almost every other one is banned!

That thread is an example of why I like these boards. The mods ban all trolls even if they are pro Apple trolls. There are other Apple fan forums I avoid because the very pro Apple people get away with troll threads about everyone else. They stay and anyone who defends other companies gets banned.

Damn, all those people are on my ignore list so I didn't see, but you're right, they've all been banned.

Guess subjective bias and constant bashing doesn't pay off...

Oh well...

Then how come you're still here?

There are other Apple fan forums I avoid because the very pro Apple people get away with troll threads about everyone else.

You mean that on the other forums they figure out you're constantly wrong in nearly everything you post and rightly call you out on it a lot sooner than you'd like. Your agenda (and you DO have one) wouldn't last twenty posts anywhere else.

The problem is that you can't hang with debate and you're easily cowed into submission, which only leaves you screaming for mod help. You're just not able to hold your own.

I just saw that too! Boooooom is the sound of the hammer coming down!

Yeah I saw it as well. The post from the person made nothing seem to banned worthy but could of made it else where. The other theory is that it could be a former member of these boards who was banned and made a new account and end up blowing their cover.

Finally, Oracle has to pay more than $1 milliion to Google for legal fees.

http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2012/09/java-judge-ends-search-for-alleged-google-sock-puppets/

He also ordered Oracle to cover Google’s $1 million share of the fees racked up by a court-appointed expert in the case. Oracle has to do this because, as Judge Alsup makes clear in his order, the database company was the big loser in the case, even though Google was found guilty of some minor copyright violations.

“The judgment, although technically mixed, was overwhelmingly in favor of Google,” Alsup says. “The media attention following this case was due in large part because Oracle crafted broad, and ulitmately overreaching, claims of copyright infringement. A close follower of this case will know that Oracle did not place great importance on its copyright claims until after its asserted patents started disappearing upon PTO re-examination
