Hi,
Been lurking for a while so was hoping I could finally see if the experts on here can help.
Just got an iPhone on Orange Pay and Go (uk) this morning. All seems fine, bar one problem. I chose to have my ‘account’ on Dolphin as I only text. So, when I topped up I got confirmation of the free Dolphin texts and 50mb internet. Fine.
But, I only seem to have 50mb of internet allowance, not the 250mb that was supposed to be included as part of the iPhone P&G deal. I rang cust service who seemed unsure but just said the 250mb should happen within 48hrs. Is this right?
Any help is much appreciated! :)

48 hours sounds a bit "long", but it us a new handset, so it could be a case of changing settings taking that long on their system.

I bought my iPhone on O2 from the Apple Store in Glasgow back in September, and it was set up in store and using my free web/wifi bolt on immediately. I also changed from the Favourite Place tariff to the O2 Unlimited tariff by visiting the O2 store down the road from the Apple Store and the change happened within 3 hours, and I was alerted by text.

Orange are conning people on PAYG with the iPhone, their tariffs are awful. I know they have a larger 3G network, but given that I live in a major city that's not an issue.

And for £15 a month I get unlimited O2 to O2 calls/texts, plus proper (ie: not apallingly capped) unlimited data, and my top up as calling credit.

Given previous experience with Orange, if your tariff doesn't change within the 48 hours, you can look forward to being battered from call centre to call centre.

Unless you have zero O2 coverage, why would anyone go with Oranges pathetic 250mb offering compared to O2's unlimited.

I had the experience with Orange PAYG where I started using data before receiving the confirmation text (Arrived 24 hrs after signing up) and was charged £25 for data off my PAYG data. Fortunately Orange were very good about it and credited the money back to the account.

I ended up changing my deal to a sim only plan dolphin plan with an £8.51 bolt on for 1GB of data bringing it up to just over £24 / month with a 30 day cancellation notice. Pretty good really.

I do like using Orange but my experience with O2 was also very good ( I've had 2 iphones with them). I'm missing the visual voicemail - hopefully Orange add the service soon.
