Hi Guys

I am extremely impatient and have been toiling with the idea of changing from ORang to O2 to get the Iphone.
Needless to say i'm excited about the prospect of being able to get one on Orange -

Does anyone have any idea's on Tariffs? Upgrade costs etc?

Also, does anyone know what sort of unit numbers orange have? I imagine that they are planning to sell a lot over Christmas, but i do know that O2 have had trouble with stock in the UK

No one knows yet.

You can register on the Orange and Vodafone web sites to receive information about tariffs and availability but it will be all over MacRumors as soon as it's announced.

The rumour is they will be about £5 ($8) per month cheaper.

But no one knows yet.

And of course O2 may be forced to cut prices to retain customers.

Orange rep told me £5 less on each of o2's contract levels is what there expecting.

Either way the minutes and texts part of their tarrifs will be comparable, so that won't be enough for me to switch from O2, with whom I have excellent coverage, where I am.
For me, it all depends on how Orange and Vodafone's data options compare to O2's.

As a former Orange employee I can say with 100% honesty that your average rep will know nothing about tariffs yet. We tended to find out the week of launch (if we were lucky) we were told very little about the animal tariffs ahead of time.

I'm a current Orange customer services rep, and we haven't been anything about prices, we're starting handset training on it on monday, as Orange are having a special group of staff dedicated to just iPhone customers.

The most they've let slip so far from digging around on our internal systems is that it'll be a branded handset and it'll also be on PAYG

BRANDED?! Orange has lost my vote. Looks like Vodafone or sticking to O2.

Shame, I really wanted Orange wednesdays too.

I read this somewhere as well (not on this site). They wont undercut O2 but that much but £5 seems reasonable.

I checked with an Orange rep at one of their stores (Dundee). They said it would be unlikely that they will be able to offer pay-as-you-go iPhones before Christmas. It sounds like they expect the demand to be high and will focus first on fleecing customers who are willing to pay for contracts. Which is a shame, since I really don't want a monthly contract...
