I'm trying to decide if i'm going to order my Ipad online or if I should wait for the store to get it in. Closest store is 1.5 hours away, i'm on their waiting list. I'm also on several other store's waiting lists as we are taking 2 work trips in the next three weeks, driving and there are 3 apple stores on the way. I was hoping that one would get in what I need so I wouldn't have to wait for it to be shipped. The only problem is they couldn't tell me how long the waiting lists are.

Oh and I was one of the people who got the ipad wifi and returned it thinking it wasn't going to be anymore useful than what I already had. Well, Dh & I came up with a great idea for it for work so now i'm getting the 3G version and it's going to work perfectly. Problem is I want it in my hot little hands now so I can get started!

Minutes ago I called the Apple store in Jax. F. because I am on a reserve list and wanted to find out if any 3Gs came in. They told me no and I am number 48 on the reserve waiting list. Not very encouraging, is it?

Well "that" is not very encouraging. Maybe I will just order online.. 7-10 days for it to be shipped though.

I called :apple: store in Ann Arbor, Mi. On Monday to get my wife one. Got on the reserve list (64 gig. Wi-fi) got the e-mail on tue. It was ready for pick-up, got it today(wed) :)

Must be because of the 64 gig. I've been on a wait list for over 9 days for a 16 gig from the Novi store. I couldn't even get a hold of the AA store.

I also have a 16gb on order from Apple and its got 38 minutes to ship to make their promise target.

My biggest problem is my Ebay auction ends Friday night and it'll sell for what I want to get rid of my 16gb wifi.

I don't need a 64 gig but I've been tempted by a 32...the plan was to give the wife or our sales person the 16gb when I outgrew it.

Are you in the U.S. or elsewhere?

If you're in the U.S. - I'd order it online. You could also see if you happen to find the model you want at the store 90 minutes away, but you'll have the preorder as a fallback. And you may decide not to make the 3-hour round trip at any point and just wait on the preorder.

If you're in a country with an upcoming launch day - you may want to preorder anyway as a backup, you can always cancel until it's ready for shipment - but you'll probably get one on launch day if you go to an Apple Store and stand in line.

I ordered it online. Estimated shipping day is the 29th.. Bummed that I have to wait two weeks.
