When i go pick up Saturday. Do u think they will let me upgrade to 32GB?

Hard to say, and probably depends on the store. Technically you reserved a 16GB so that is what Apple sent them. They could pull a 32GB from the "unreserved" stock, or they could tell you you have to get into the "unreserved" line.

No one here can comment definitively on Apple policy. You need to contact Apple or the store for their policy.

Yes they said their unsure. Guess ill ask at counter see what they say!

Can't hurt to ask when you get there. If they tell you that you have to wait until after 3pm or get in the other line. I would get the 16gb and come back later to see about swapping out.

I'd wait in the line for people without reservations first to make sure I can get my hands on the 32 GB. Then you can handle the 16 GB iPad cancellation/return. If you do the 16 GB thing first you might miss out on a 32 GB while you're doing the reservation pick up.

They probably will if they have them available. Remember, the walk in line is first come, first served. You might try calling the store today and see if they'll swap it (on paper) for you.

Don't call the store...your asking for a screw up. Handle it when you get there.

Hey, the worst thing can be, you won't get one at all  if you try. So keep the 16GB........for $100 bucks more you get double the memory....your choice.

it is very safe to say they won't allow it. they specifically ask you to specify which ipad you are pre-ordering for reserve. if they allowed you to change the size while picking it up they would not have bothered to ask the size in the first place. common sense :p

"Unreserved Stock" LOL!

There will be no such thing.

Why not just turn up as early as possible and join the unreserved line. When you get to the counter ask for the 32gb model, if they have it then great buy it. If they are out then you always have your reserved 16gb model to purchase so you dont leave empty handed. If you are successful getting the 32gb however it would be wise to mention at the time you want the 16gb model to be released from your reservation so that someone else is free to buy it.

I bet "officially" they will not be allowed to give you a different model than the one you reserved. BUT, it probably all comes down to the person you are talking to and whether you can kind of charm your way into getting them to give you the 32GB version instead. It also might be contingent on whether they have a healthy stock of ipads, or are on a very razor thin margin compared with the number of reservations they have.

I agree with the other posts that said you should try and ask if they can do it, heck, it can never hurt to try!

just talked to my apple store and they said that I can upgrade to a different model day of, they just can't change the reservation. Sounds like they'll be having plenty of extra at my store.

I plan on doing the same thing. Reserved 16GB but hope to get a 32GB when there. If I can't get it - then I'll live with the 16GB. I plan on getting in line early.

That's weird because it would mess up their reservation numbers, so they must have tons of extras :)

In the DC area, called the store where i had my reservation and they indicated that you can cahnge your order if they are in stock. There early they said not a issue. Checked with another store in the area and they said the same thing. FYI I did this with the 3gs, swaped on the spot.
