I ordered a white MB 2Ghz and it's been shipped, but I have to wait until the long weekend is over to receive it.

Yesterday I thought I'd get 2x1GB chips to add to it when it arrives and bought Corsair Value Added. Turns out Corsair is not friendly with MB :( The supplier doesn't do refunds only exchanges and the only other ram they stock is some generic product I never heard of.

I'm kinda bummed about this actually and I still have to track down ram (which is hard to find as 1GB sticks in my city in Australia unless I want to pay around $400 each).

check your credit card benefits, you even used a credit card...

some credit card companies allows you to "return" items to them to get your money back if the seller does not for a certain amount of time. I believe AMEX does something like this

Any 533 or 667mhz DDR2 ram should work in your MacBook.

I'm fairly sure the whole RAM incompatibility depending on chipset is a thing of the past.

The machine absolutely is specced for 667 MHz RAM. If you're running 533 then you are cruising for a bruising and/or getting sub-par performance. The SPD settings have to be programmed correctly. The module has to be voltage stable.

And it is irresponsible to post blanket statements like that.

Sounds like you haven't even tried the RAM yet. I've never had any problems with Corsair Value RAM in any of my Macs or PCs.

Intel's chipset spec allows for either 533mhz or 667mhz DDR2 ram. Apple may say 667mhz, but they don't make the chipset, they just put it in a box.

I've been running 2GB of OCD 533mhz DDR2 memory for weeks now without any problems. Perhaps my memory bandwidth isn't as high as it could be, but for 99% of the tasks performed on the laptop, it doesn't really matter.
