I ordered my first ever Mac, the 13 inch M1 MacBook Pro with 16gb ram and 512 Gb storage on 2/26.

I ordered it directly from apple and they told me because this is an uncommon configuration, they had to actually make it at the factory in China and ship it to me directly. I thought maybe my computer would be hitching a ride on the ups flight last night to anchorage but I don’t think so. Right now it’s stuck on “the package will be forwarded to a ups facility in the destination city”

Here are the shipping details so far

These machines are made in Chinese factories. All you're seeing is the progress as it moves from China to you. You need only worry if somewhere they decide not to ship it to the destination city. ;-)

surprised i have nothing yet on tracking

From what I know, most likely UPS is not handling the package inside China, they feed you only generic information provided because this is also what they're getting from their contractor. When the package moves outside the China and UPS takes over then you'll see more details.

Regarding the duplicate entries these are not uncommon, it just a "report" scanning, practically they just scanning anything that stays in the facility overnight for making sure they got the correct inventory, even if no action is being taken.
