Hello all,

Ordered my first Mac ever - thanks to the ability to run both Mac & MS - I am happy to move across to Mac!!

My question is, does anyone know what the memory configuration is on the Macbooks (NOT THE PRO).

With 512MB does it have a single 512MB stick or 2 x 256MB?

Thanks,
Leon

Bummer... 512MB will be sufficient for now I suppose :)

Actually, it really won't be. Buy a 1GB stick for now, and set the machine up at 1.25GB. If you need dual channel (speeding up graphics and allowing your book to dynamically allocate more than 64MB of RAM for video), you will need to either get a 2nd 1GB stick, or just get 2 512MB sticks now. This is a requirement if you want to run Vista Aero Glass.

I really recommend at least getting one 1GB stick now, and 2x1GB sticks if you can afford it. 512MB will leave your MacBook very very sluggish.

Thanks Netdog... I will be hoping to get Vista running full blast, so will need dual channel.

There is no market for the old 256BM sticks is there, so I couldnt even sell these :(
