Somewhere interesting
Hi, i just wanted to know how long is taking for Apple to ship the 2.2ghz (stock model) MBP. I chose the 2-3 days shipping option, but, it appears as if my order will still take up to August 7 to ship.

As a side note, really hope this one's problem free, as I spent no less than 2 months trying to get my mother to buy it for me *blushes*.

its 7-10 business days as it says below the 2.2 and 2.4 15in on the apple website, has been that way for a few weeks now. Expect around 7 days but worse case 10 to be shipped. Once it is shipped and has arrived on US soil, eg Anchorage Alaska, then it will be 2-3 days from then.

Out of curiosity, why Alaska? Seemed sort of random.

As for OP, here's my guess. You place the order on 7/20. In China, your notebook is prepared and is ready to leave on Saturday (7/28). It takes one day for your notebook to go from the factory onto a freighter (7/29). Now it takes a few days for the notebook to be shipped, arriving in San Diego on 8/2 perhaps. Then it takes one day for the notebook to be taken off of the freighter (8/3). UPS takes another day, and so you get the notebook on 8/4.

My guess anyways.

How long does the standard shipping take? I start school August 23rd and have been wanting to order a MBP soon, so I'm wondering when is the latest I can order it and still have it a good couple of days before school to get fully comfortable with it. :D

You need to order NOW! You're running out of time. Why were you waiting anyways?

eh is it ''healthy'' to freeze myself for a whole week? will i still alive? >_>
i so damn much cant wait, the 2.2 is out of stock in my store..every week i call they say ''sorry sir bla bla bla..next week''....so this time i have to wait until the second of AUG...

The shortest distance between two points on a sphere is a great circle; if youre shipping from China, then Alaska is quite a bit closer than California.

as someone mentioned a bit earlier, Cartman tried freezing himself. Unfortunately, it all went wrong and he ended up sometime in the future (500 years. . .).

I ordered mine on the 27th. Apple estimates it will ship Aug. 7-10, and deliver by Aug 9-15...now THAT'S a good 2 day shipping >.>.

Yes, but it isn't being flown, it's going to be on a ship. If the OP lives on the West Coast or near the West Coast, it'll be coming in through San Diego or Long Beach.

They could care less where you live. Mine came through Alaska and flew over Utah to Tennessee, then back to Utah. They ship them in big shipments and slowly filter out to the different locations, each time cutting the pile down in size. His might even be going to Tennessee before heading off to where ever he is. Let's hope that's not the case, but we'll see.

That's on UPS or FedEx's side, not on the freighter coming from China. That freighter will be entering through the Port of Long Beach for West Coast shipments. No one flies a computer in; way too expensive.
