The shipping time is ridiculous, I dont understand. You can walk into any Apple store right now and they have them in stock..

I ordered a black MacBook yesterday evening and it said was estimated to ship in 7 days time, but i had an email this afternoon to say it's been dispatched. I think Apple are over-estimating shipping times at the moment.

It's my first ever Mac, so i'm very excited. I know the black MacBook's more expensive than the same speced white, but i like the black so yeah! Can't wait!

They're still being conservative on ship times due to back-to-school shortages reported a few weeks ago. They're probably more available than Apple's letting on just to make sure people aren't shocked if their MB doesn't arrive within a day or two.

I ordered one on the 8th with the free iPod and some other stuff everything is here except the computer which ship date was pushed back to the 22

Damn, thats exactly what I ordered, I hope my ship date doesnt get pushed back. Right now its the 21st.

Just checked my order status/tracking and it says it's in Cheltenham and is currently 'Out for Delivery' - so i should get it today! That's within 2 days...the original shipment said up to 14 days! So i'm chuffed

I'm probably going to order a white 2.0ghz macbook today or tomorrow, BTO with a 120g hard drive though. I am buying with stock RAM and upgrading that once I receive the notebook. I know the hard drive is a easy upgrade but I want to buy the macbook and begin to use it normally and not worry about over loading it with stuff then receiving a 120g hd and having to transfer everything.

Me MacBook's just arrived! Get it all out and setup in a sec. Verrry exciting!

I'm going to stick 2GB RAM in there soon (as soon as i've got some more money!) which should speed it up a bit!

I ordered a stock $1299 MacBook (cost me $1199 using education discount) w/ 60 GB iPod, using the iPod rebate for students. I'd have upgraded to the 80 GB hard drive, but being paranoid, I realized that you don't get the 14 day no questions asked return period if you customize the product, and a smart shopper can get an 80 GB notebook hard drive for just $60 and upgrade it on their own anyway at a later date. I'll also upgrade the RAM later on.

I ordered on the 15th.
Interestingly, the estimated ship date is September 26th. The estimated arrival date is October 3rd.

Please be MacBook updates...

Mine was scheduled for the 26th too, and I ordered on a different day to you.

In fact, a lot of people ordering at all different sorts of dates have had the 26th quoted as the delivery estimate.
