Ordered white 2.16 ghz macbook!

Hey whats up guys, I'm new. Been a PC user since my first hand me down IBM XT in 1990, but now I decided to switch. Ordered a 2.16 ghz white macbook, and I'm waiting on the UPS guy to deliver it. Says out for delivery now, so hopefully soon!

I'll let you all know what I think when I get it. Cant wait!
 
Congrats! If you're a switcher and need Windows to run stuff that doesn't have a Mac equivalent, I'd definitely look into Boot Camp, Parallels, or VMware for your new MacBook.

Also, I'd be glad to help with any Mac OS X usage questions you may have, if you are new to Mac OS X. Hope you enjoy your computer!
 
great! Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, I ordered a wireless mighty mouse, a marware sportfolio, and a copy of parallels with my laptop. So I think I'm just about ready to go.
 
Just got the same model myself, you're going to be delighted with it, it's a real bullet!
 
There is nothing more exciting then the day your Mac will arrive. I took off work, even though my roommate would have been home to accept the package. I needed to be there. I knew the Fed Ex guy was going to come at 4 o'clock, but I was up and ready for him by 8:D
 
Congrats! I got the exact same version a couple of days back myself. Parallels is great and it will simply amaze you to see 2 OS's working in harmony side by side. Besides, i rarely ever go to Windows since the Mac can do everything (notice i didn't say almost everthing ;) ).

The wireless mighty mouse is a waste IMO. You should have spent the same amount on getting yourself 2GB RAM from newegg. That would have been money better spent :)

Let me know how you like the Marware product as i was considering getting one myself.

I purchased the same about a week ago. But unfortunately I think I got a right lemon.

My first Mac too. Not v.happy!!!
 
Congrats....... you will not be disaointed!!! I was a pc user for about 10 years and just recentally switched. Got a blackbook about a month ago when they were reduced about $350. It took me about 2 horus to get 90% comfortabel with Mac OSX. just use the forms on this site to learn soethig you dont know

Do you have an Apple Retail Store near where you live? If you do, take it in there, and explain your situation to the folks at the Genius Bar. They helped me out with a similar problem with an iMac G5 I bought. (I was experiencing much the same symptoms - unable to force quit, random freezing and crashing. Turns out the problem was bad PMU settings. A reset of the PMU cleared up the problems.)

I have one of these premium reseller guys in my city but no actual Apple Store.

I'll give the Apple Care guys a ring later on and see what they say.

I really hope it can be fixed because I am really loving the new Mac, its just so frustraitingly annoying that my first Mac experience is resulting in constant crashes!!!

ITS HERE! Unboxing pictures to follow, so far I love it. The attention to detail in even the packing materials is amazing. So far the mighty mouse is great, very easy to set up. no problems with right clicking unlike what i had heard. maybe its updated? The lappy itself is greatt!!

Went through the personalization steps, very easy detected my wireless network no prob. Nice touch having you take a pic of yourself with the isight.

Had to put it away though since i'm at work. The hours are going to tick by VERY SLOWLY.

By the way to the person who asked about the marware case. Its absolutely worth it.

for the 25 or whatever i paid for it, its equal or better quality than the targus neoprene case I had previously for my old laptop. Absolutely worth the purchase.

grr i might have to feign illness so that I can leave. haha!
 
I received my 2.16/1gb/120gb white macbook today as well! My very first mac! Everything is perfect except for 1 stuck pixel in the center of the screen. I only notice it on light backgrounds, I plan on trying to fix it later today.


I love this thing already! And my new Red 8gb Nano!
