Other Ordering iPhone 12 mini process on IUP

Hey all,

So I am in the U.K. I plan on joining the Apple iPhone upgrade program. So on Friday when the pre order launches, I just go ahead and place the order on Apple website or the app and then I should have an option to get it on the upgrade program right?

Also I think I have read that the upgrade program will only be available for devices to picked up in store?

Is it no way available for the iPhone to be delivered? Also does pre authorisation for the upgrade program launch before the pre order date? If I do end up having an only option to pick up in store then if I order on pre order day then I should be able to collect on launch day? Also what are the likely chances that if I do a pre order this Friday that I will definitely be able to get the iPhone the following Friday?

Yes this is correct. The also normally open up a prequalify your iUp 24 hours before preorder. If you do the prequalify you do all credit related things in advance so you only have to place iPhone order at preorder time. Be on look out for that.

I just realized this might be different in UK based on some comments. So I’ll let UK residents chime in. Apologize.

I would skip this option as all stores in UK will be shut from Thursday. I suggest you order online or go via carrier.

Are you in England? If you are the issue is that the Apple stores will have to close in line with the CoVid lockdown of non essential retail. At the moment I believe there is no way to do the iUP online only and that you have to go in to a store to complete. Therefore unless Apple quickly come up with an alternative you might have to wait until December to join the iUP.

I am in Scotland. Our rules on lock down aren’t at the same level as England yet. I hope they do allow an online option for IUP then as I don’t see why it just has to be store only.

Will go online with Apple direct if stores will have to shut. But hoping IUP option be available. If not then May as well get the iPhone over 24 months and then just trade it when it comes to upgrading.
