ok well im still learning the whole apple tv thing, so im uploading my videos to itunes and realized they all went into the movies section. how do i go about seperating everything into its right section. and how do i put the image of the dvd cover as the picture instead of the very first scene, along with the information about the movie in?

AAAAANNNDDDD one last thing, how do i merge all the tv shows into there own section, example all top gear with all top gear, all its always sunny with its always sunny and so on. like when you purchase stuff from itunes

THANK YOU SO MUCH for any help

Sounds like your biggest problem is tags, or the lack thereof.

Check out MetaX http://www.kerstetter.net/page53/page54/page54.html as it simplifies much of what you are looking for. And if you have not yet done so, upgrade to iTunes 8 which allows you to set many more of the required tags etc... within iTunes.

MetaX is a great program for tagging. Depending on how involved you want them to be, you can add actors, directors, tv network, etc etc with this program... I have chosen to be way too involved and add all of that. It's nice when you have a TV series and all of the episodes are properly named with a brief synopsis of each episode, especially if you're looking for a specific one.
My only recommendation is to be patient and invest the time now, especially if you plan on building on your video library.

thanks so much for the help. i was just playing around in itunes and i realized that when you click and press control you can click get info, to then add the information there.

thanks alot again

Just FWIW, there remain a number of tags that are inaccessible from within iTunes. For example, the Rating (e.g. TV-PG, R, etc...) is read only in iTunes, but can be set using MetaX and other tools.
