Hey I have a 1st generation Iphone jailbroken and unlocked for use on T-mobile. I have been out of the Iphone hack game for a long while and am currently stuck on Version 1.1.4 (4A102) with the 04.04.05_G Modem Firmware. I am not 100% on what method I used to unlock it originally but I believe it was done using the virginized iPlus 2.0 method. I have yet to update iTunes since I originally jailbroke my phone so I am currently on iTunes 7.6.0.29. I am just wondering if there is currently anyway I can upgrade to 3.0 and have my phone jailbroken and unlocked so it still works with T-Mobile. I am currently running Windows Vista and any help or any of you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. I had actually come across this guide already but I am glad to get confirmation it will work for me. I have a couple more questions though. First off on that tutorial it says to upgrade iTunes to 8.2. Do I need this exact version of iTunes or will it work with anything past 8.2? My other thing is the "BL3.9" download no longer works on that tutorial but I was able to find what I believe to be the same file at: http://www.iphone-hacks.com/iphone-downloads/file/131. Is this the correct file? Again thanks for the quick response. I really appreciate your help.

Anything past 8.2 will work. And yes thats the right file. You'll need 4.6 aswell.

If i'm thinking right, you probably used bootneuter to unlock your 2g. in that case your phone will always been unlocked no matter what you restore too, but just to be safe unlock it "again"

I just wanted to post on here again and thank both of you for your help. I successfully jailbroke and unlocked my phone last night. The only hiccup I had came as a result of leaving my sim card in during the process which mad the phone freeze at the boot up screen. After taking the sim card out and repeating the whole process it worked like a charm. I only have one more question for you all. Is there any way to get mms for the 2G iPhone? I found and online tutorial that said to go into Cydia and search for a program called "ActivateMMS2G" but for some reason it no longer exists. Is there any other routes to get mms on my phone? Again thanks a ton for all of your help. I really appreciate it.
