So I just got an iPhone and you know how there is already a protective sticker thingy covering the screen?

I'm sure a great deal of people never take this off so was wondering what kind of protection it offers?

I got an incase slider case but left that protective sticker thing on the cover on and was wondering...

:D:D

It works as one of those screens you buy. The only thing with that screen is that you have to cut it in a way that the extra part doesn't peel off (the back side of the cover) I would use a artist knife to be more prices and make a better cut without damaging the iPhone.

Ah, to protect the back as well, i get ya. There was a little tab of plastic restricting access to the bottom port connection so i had to cut that off before putting on my incase hard shell case thing.

Now i just gotta find an fm transmitter that'll fit with the added few millimeters of that hard shell case.

Yes, that part. It can be a pain to cut it well enough. I ended up just tearing the back cover off and leaving the top part.

You got an iPhone and an iPod touch on the same day?! ;)

:p

I generally try and keep the plastic on my devices for as long as possible without them getting in the way. Unfortunately for me the guy at the store that activated my phone decided to pull the plastic off the entire back of the device, so it wouldn't stick back down properly after. I've left the plastic on my original 1G touch when I got that, for around 3 months and it protected it perfectly.

Well you kinda have to pull it back to get to the SIM card tray ... Regardless, I would think it would restrict some fine manipulation using multi-touch ...

By the way OP, that' incase slider is gonna scratch the crap out of your iPhone ... Just so you know.

Bwahaha I was like where did my post go! ;) I found it on the duplicate.

I personally hate leaving on that plastic. It just makes the product feel so restricted. It's like people that leave the plastic on their furniture :p (something I've NEVER trully understood)... To each their own I guess ;)

Doesn't it cover the earpiece? I remember iPhone 2G days when people would go to the genius bar complaining they cant hear out of the iPhone, and the genius would take off the screen protector that came on it

Hahaha exactly. I believe it also covers the Audio plug output.
