Original Game on Mac OS9 or 8

I remember a while back (around 2006/2007/maybe 2008) I was messing with the schools eMac and it had a game on it. The game was a airplane game where you had to shoot objects and enemies that came at you and stuff like that. I don't remember the name of the game. Does anyone remember or know what I am talking about?

Was it in space? 2D?
Then it might be Maelstrom?

No it wasn't that one. You would go through levels where there could be ocean levels or land levels.
