I recently got a 1st gen iPhone with 2.0.1 on it, the sim card in it has been deactivated. I went to at&t support center but they couldn't help me.

I would like to go with AT&T's pick your plan, but I don't know if this is still possible with 2.0.1 and if it is, where can I get a clean simcard from? Can I buy a gophone and swap in it's simcard and then activate through itunes? Do i need to unlock it first with pwnage?

Thanks for any help!

A SIM card from at&t costs between $20 and $30 (officially). You can get them at any at&t Store or authorized retailer (including Radio Shack and Best Buy).

Then just pop the SIM in the phone, connect to iTunes, and when it asks for a SSN, just enter 000-00-0000 or 999-99-9999, it will fail the credit check and give you the option for a GoPhone Plan. At least that is how it worked last year when the iPhone came out.

Well I went to the store, they said you couldn't get just a simcard and activate it over itunes. I wound up just getting a regular plan without a contract.
