I have the original macbook, 2.0ghz white w/ superdrive

Can I burn Dual Layer DVD's?

How much quality do I actually lose when I shrink to fit one regualr DVD-R?

Thanks.

I have the same machine, and no, you do not have dual layer. I use Toast to shrink to fit, and I don't notice any loss of quality (although I may not be as picky as a lot of folks).

No it doesn't. As far as quality goes - the more over the 4.4(roughly) gig limit of a single layer DVD you go, the more quality you will lose. Simple as that.
Like another poster, I also use toast and have been fairly impressed with its compression ability. A lot of the time these days, I only want the main feature anyway which means the quality is usually excellent.
