I'm a registered developer, although I haven't yet paid the $99. That being said, I have no way to read the b1-b2 upgrade instructions (paid developers only). Now I fear I may not be able to upgrade and my phone may be bricked when b1 expires. Surely Apple must let people like myself know how to upgrade... I don't believe I did anything wrong. Anyone know what these secret instructions are, or when the expiration date for b1 is? I can't be the only beta tester getting caught in the middle of this.

I fear my only option is to just get the update via p2p and install on a wing and a prayer.

Well, you didn't pay the $99 to legitimately install the OS 4.0 betas and based on your worries, you aren't legitimately working with a dev to give them your udid. Exactly why would Apple owe you anything?

I am still in contact with the developer that registered my UDID. I am at work and haven't tried to install the beta 2 yet. After reading the comments here I guess I shouldn't have any issues. I was just worried after reading about some special instructions that needed to be read only by paid developers. Perhaps that was just whiny developers mad that people were getting 4.0 without paying the $99. So many haters...

No, what developers don't like is that people who obviously aren't devs get 4.0 and then come here an start a new thread for every bug/complaint/issue they have with 4.0.

This.

I'm not going to judge that you go through questionable means to obtain something that is intended to be for paid for. I am so sick and tired of these forums being bombarded with people who aren't developers and want to put a fraggin' beta OS on their primary device. They clearly don't know what they are getting into and then come here complain about things being unstable or that they don't have access to developer only items. Well no kidding!

I used Xcode to upgrade it took like 45 min after restoring Nd putting my apps bCk on. The new beta has fixed many problems but i have one with my camera. But that's not you this is y u should oy get the beta if u are legit working with a dev or are one if u don't know what ur doing it just causes to many problems.

I know what a beta is... I am a beta tester and app developer. I'm also probably one of the few here who has spent countless hours on a Mac classic or the old dear IIGS. Funny how I'm treated like a criminal on this forum because I got 4.0 to beta test apps so I had to acquire it differently. You people complaining about the complainers are funny. Please at least tell me that you see the irony in your whining.

Kinda seems like it'd be a good thing to me.

Sure, nobody likes to hear whining and complaining but the whiners and complainers are still revealing legitimate bugs that true beta testers may not come across.

I'm not calling the OP illegitimate nor am I pointing fingers at any specific whiners or complainers.
