7.6 isn't free, which is why it's hard to find. However, I have seen it floating around on LimeWire.

what the heck do you want to do with 7.6 ?
a buddy of mine once sent we windows 1.0 over AIM as a joke. 750 K. "things have changed a lot," he said. lol!

The reson why I wnat 7.6 is because I aqquired 6 computers that have 7.5.5 and I was just talking the uprgrade path to newer systems

I've been trying to .. uuhhhh.. "find" OS 7.6 for a long time too, and I've had no luck at all.
You could try looking on Mac emulator sites, but other than that I have a feeling it isn't out there...

Please don't shoot me for this, but i'd like to point out that anything before OS 8 is called 'System' I just like to see original names preserved.

System 7
System 7.5
System 7.6
OS 8
OS 8.5
etc...

it usually takes a good while for apple to release old system software, but with os x having been the default for over a year, i'd think it would be safe to release 7.6 for download. in all honesty, i'm not sure why they don't release os 8 either (or all oses up to the first that supports carbonlib - 8.1?). anyway, 7.5.5 is the highest apple offers for download, but it's been available for a while and i can't imagine that it would be too long before 7.6 is up for free. perhaps after 10.3 is released?

Remember that OS 7.6 is quite big, that might have something to do with it. I've got the CD right here, and it's 232 MB. Of course it will probably compress to a lot less than that. OS 8 is even bigger.

While 7 and 7.5 were indeed System, 7.6 is OS:
