OS always asks for wifi user/password after reconnecting

Hi! So this annoying thing has been a normal occurence since the dawn of time, but I wonder if there is any chance of fixing it.

Everytime a wifi connection do eduroam drops, upon reconnecting I ALWAYS have to reenter my username and password. I followed some steps trying to fix it (using keychain first aid) BUT it didn't work. And I'm now on macOS Sierra which means I don't even have that option anymore.

If you have a solution please let me know. I feel like Locke in Lost.

According to the eduroam wiki here:

Mac OS X versions of 10.7 and higher should use eduroam CAT.

Mine is not on the list unfortunately. I have just noticed the weirdest thing: if I just cancel the dialog box, the wifi reconnects without entering the username and password. Still annoying, but less so.
