OS updates options for macbook air 13" early 2015 running El Capitan 10.11.6

Trying to update an old MacBook AIR, 13" early 2015, currently on El Capitan 10.11.6, but when I try updating get message no update available !

Surely a way to get a more upto date OS, was hoping to get to Catalina although I expect would need several intermediary versions....

Advice appreciated.

Catalina (I would recommend holding off for now. It is new and has bugs still):

I strongly recommend doing a backup before performing any macOS upgrade just in case a problem is encountered and recovery to a the older, functional system is needed.
