Hi!

Recently Apple released OS X 10.10.4.

Some people complained about stability and performance issues on 10.10.3, and i'm still on 10.10.1 waiting to do a fresh install of 10.10.4.

My questions to the testers who didn't jump to El Cap yet: Is noticeably more stable 10.10.4 than previous releases of Yosemite?

Also, do you feel any problem on heat or power consumption?

What about Trimforce, is it already on 10.10.4?

I need a stable version of Yosemite in order to wait for first or second update of El Capitan (at least). And I hope OS X 10.10.4 will be that version.

I will install it on my 2010 13" MacBook Pro today, maybe tomorrow, and will report on any issue I experience, any new feature I find.

installed fine here (just now, 12pm EST). no noticeable differences from the last beta (yet). my mail's a little sluggish (as in the beta). will see how the rest of it goes...

I just enabled TRIM using trimforce on my 2010 iMac with a Samsung 850 Evo. Everything seems to be working so far.

Unless I'm misreading something, 10.10.4 also included an EFI and SMC update for the 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2011). The version information listed in System Information doesn't match Apple's support site. I wonder if this was a fix for the EFI exploit that allowed the firmware to be overwritten after certain systems awoke from sleep?

My 2008 24" iMac's LCD stopped working after the 10.10.4 update completed, gutted :(

EDIT: reset the SMC and its working again!!

Safari seems snappier ;)
The thing I wanted the most out of 10.10.4 was the return of mDNSResponder, and my network seems more responsive. Connecting to shares is faster and more reliable now.

Man, I really had my hopes up, but I still have safari/wifi issues... This has been going on in my case for 3 years now. WTF

This is good to hear. I'm hoping the same stability issues will be resolved on my 2014 Mac mini once I get it to 10.10.4

Updated through the app store, battery life still horrible!
Then downloaded and re-installed the combo update, no luck again!
Ever since I updated to 10.10.2 or .3 (not sure), my Mid-2014 rMBP has a very poor battery life of 3-4 hours.
Also, Safari is even worse; every other random page fails to open.
Any solutions?

Can someone tell me how to enable TRIM without trespassing security preferences in 10.10.4?
