I have a question I know I don't have ios 8 but I do have osx Yosemite so I was I FaceTime and iMessage today and I tried to place a phone call but I don't know how it works or even if it's available also in iMessage i tried doing a SMS text to someone and it won't even go through it doesn't even say it's sending so if someone could help me I would thank you. If your wanting to know my mac is a mid 2010 13 in MacBook Pro

The Continuity feature is only available if you are using iOS 8, to the best of my knowledge.

So do you think I need ios 8 and will my mac support phone calling and SMS text messaging
