Anyone else who has installed Mountain Lion seeing Twitter notifications on the desktop? I've setup Twitter in my system prefs, but getting no notifications.

Was curious.

The Twitter integration is like the iOS Twitter integration. You won't see notifications unless you have the Twitter app installed. The integration is so you can Tweet from OS X apps like Safari and Photobooth.

It's all starting to sound so Windows-ish. :(

How is it sounding "Windows-ish"?

Also after looking into it more the Twitter integration in ML will notify you of DM's and Mentions. That's different from iOS integration.

Am I the only one who thought that the drop down menu from the 'share menu' does not look "Apple-ish"?

I'm curious as to how you tweet from within Safari? All the videos I see I never see them click a button or anything it just pops up. Is it illegal for devs to tell us how they have implemented it?

I can tweet your post simply by clicking on the post number and tweeting it.

I saw that someone else but they say that button is to share links and such. Is that all you can do? I was under the impression you could just tweet whatever.

To just tweet whatever. Meaning post a general tweet you need to install twitter app.

Twitter integration just means you can tweet links, photos, notes etc.

in the cult of Mac video showcasing features he wasn't using any twitter app though. he was just tweeting.

I just discovered that Twitter is already in 10.8 as an app.

I went to the app store to look for a twitter app and twitter came up and said installed.

I then went into launchpad and there it was. The twitter app.

I clicked on it. Signed in and poof. Instant twitter app.

No, it is not. My guess is you probably have it somewhere else on your hard drives (in my case it was on the Lion partition; I have ML on an external drive).
