OS X and XP networking help

Hi everyone,
I am trying to setup a Ad-hoc system in my house between my Windows XP computer and my Aluminium Macbook. I followed the guide that microsoft has at this link to setup wireless internet connection sharing:

The problem is, The macbook will not detect this under the available networks. Is there any way i can get my XP machine to share it's wireless connection with the Macbook (Besides getting a wireless router)?

uhh, why don't you get a router? the airport express isn't that expensive.

Just bought a TEW-652BRP but would still love to know if it is possible to accomplish the task using the method above?
