Hi all, I'm a designer using illustrator heavily -and everything has seized up on me since updating to el capitan a few days ago.
Bridge cc has stopped functioning almost entirely, illustrator cc takes 10 minutes to save a tiny file, etc...
I rooted out the possible issue to a huge slew of foreign language fonts that were somehow added to both the system library and the user font library during the update.
attempts to disable or delete some of these fonts using Font Book worked, but a lot of them are not allowed to disable or trash because it says either OS X needs them or they are "in use".
I can't do a wholesale cleaning of all my fonts because i have a zillion of them that i need and use and re-installing them would be a nightmare.
anyone else with this issue? any "easy" fix here?
It seems they are primarily hindu language fonts that are stubbornly refusing to be disabled, with a whole bunch of chinese/japanese that were disable-able.
