OS X force sleep with excessive ambient temperature?

Just wondering - I accidentally left a small heater running in my office yesterday and someone shut the door without realizing the heater was on. The office warmed up to at least 90-95+℉ in the room. When I entered the room, the first thing I did was check the Mac Pro, and realized it had went in sleep mode several hours earlier by checking the Console log.

I computer was under no sort of load, so I am suspecting the ambient temperature caused it to auto-sleep? I saw nothing "thermal" or "temperature" related in the console log - only the code for the previous sleep "5" which seems to the be the standard code if on selects Sleep from the Apple menu.

No damage appears to have been done - I am just mainly curious at this point.

No. It was set to Never, and that was one of the first things I confirmed when I noticed it was asleep. I am almost certain it was a temperature event, but I am unable to find any documentation on it "sleeping" other than on the G5 processors for a "thermal runaway" event, which I have not located any reference to on the Intel machines, and when the processor overheats which apparently causes a (I assume ungraceful) shutdown (vs sleep).

It may be worth replacing the heater with a model that has a thermostat too.

It has one, but it is broken!

Time for a new heater for sure.

Don't think heat does it. I've edited video on my Mac Pro with ambient temps over 100F, no shutdowns or sleeps.
