i restarted and it says the same thng been going at it for hours this is the june 07 macbook pro

Can you hold down the option key and force the boot loader to show you different start up options? If so, choose the Mac first and then Vista next. I'm surprised that Vista would have hosed the Mac, unless you accidently did something during the install screen (especially on the partitioning screen).

If the Mac Partition was screwed, then you should restore your Mac using the Apple CDs.
