OS X Mail

Hello. I am using OS X Mail to monitor 3 email accounts. I've run into a problem with one of the 3. When reading emails on the problem account, I'm getting a weird name in the To: field. Instead of Mail inserting my email name in the To field, it replaces it with HP eFAX. I do use HP eFAX but I have no idea how this name got into my email. If I check my mail using other email readers, the account name is ok. I deleted the problem email account from Mail, rebooted and then re-established it. The problem is still there. I can send and receive emails from this account but the To field is still bogus. I checked my Contacts. Everything there seems to be ok. I thought I would be able to delete the Mail app and then restore it from a backup but OS X will not allow me to do that. I also did a Spotlight Search to see where this HP eFAX name is coming from but I couldn't find anything. In the meantime, for now, I just de-selected the To field in this email account.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can correct this?

Re: deleting the Mail app, yes, can't delete core apps. Besides, issue would not be there in that the various configuration files and databases will be in ~/Library, and then /Library.

The e-mails in question: are they coming from same "person" ("person" being a person or some automated mail generator)? If so, double check your Contacts and see if there is a contact for them that needs fixing. Should be able to search for "HP eFax" in Contacts to find the card with that in it and fix it.

Also might looks at clearing your Frequent Recipients list, just to be extra safe.

It doesn't matter who sends the message. All messages from this email account being read using OS X Mail has this problem regardless of who the sender is. The problem only affects the To: column when reading the messages. I've checked Contacts as well as Previous Recipients in Mail but I can't find any reference to the error name. I believe the error is somehow imbedded within the Mail app itself.
