I've been trying to install OS X Mavericks on a Mac Pro 1,1 since Wednesday with no luck? Is this even possible? I've called Apple, been to about 15 sites, had a friend download the installer to a USB drive and even resorted to downloading a torrent with the installer to no avail. I'm at my wits end and about to chuck my Mac Pro out the window.

If it's a dead end, then fine but if it is at all possible, can someone tell me the steps (in layman terms) or tell me to commence with the chucking so I can move on with my life  ?

Here are my specs:

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 7 GB
Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT

Thank you SO much in advance.

There is no Mavericks drivers to the 7300 GT so you don't want to boot mavericks on that card unless you want to experience slow and buggy graphics, if not worse issues.
No need to call Apple since your config is not officially supported.
I suggest you install a newer graphics card and follow instructions in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1598176/
(look for tiamo's boot.efi file)

As for downloading Mavericks, well just use a supported Mac or a reliable torrent. This shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you so much jeanlain.
