Can someone explain to me the god awful iCloud document manager half baked into Mountain Lion. Firstly, it seems that if you have a file name longer than 15 characters, it abbreviates it massively. This means that half my documents and 'folders' are unreadable.
Secondly, why on earth does it always feel it has to create a backup randomly out of the blue. I seem to always have a random duplicate of the file I was working on named "Backup of _____". Thirdly, if a document was created on iOS, you seem not to be able to quicklook it. Instead, it shows a small thumbnail of the document which is unreadable and then the file details to the right of it.
The points above I haven't heard mentioned much on these forums at all, but they are disastrous failings. Other problems are the lack of nested folders, the horrible linen background which just doesn't work in this scenario, the poor sorting options and the fact that you cannot access these files outside of the application.
Does anyone else experience or get annoyed by these problems? It just seems so half-baked its unbelievable it has made it into the final product! A huge step back from finder and unfortunately the only way to manage your documents on iCloud automatically.
Personally, if I were Apple, I would completely re-do the iWork suite of applications for OSX: bring it more aesthetically inline with the iOS counterparts and add more features to both so they both have the same features, as opposed to both having different sets of features and compatibility starting to be a pain.
