ok, this has been driving me crazy for months now, so i have to ask... when atempting to save an image altered in photoshop, i can't save it and overwrite the old file because os x says "image is still in use or some junk". i think this is because my photoshopped images are being saved as thumbnails in the finder, therefore keeping the image "in use". has anyone else had this problem/know a fix?

perhaps the file is already open with preview of iphoto?

maybe the finder is showing a preview of the file and you are trying to overwrite it, but it just doesn't want to--close the window the file is located in.

whenever i have a problem with photoshop...i just re-install it...that usually does the trick.

RE-INSTALL photoshop. What the heck?!...........That is sooo not nescessary. Unless you've got major issues.

It does sound like you may have the file open unknowingly in a previewer or other app. Just double check to see that all your apps are close and give a go. Other than that, I'm not aware of any bugs like that in PS7. Let me know how it goes?
